IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Sign Ex-Australian As Batting Consultant

Adam Voges has been appointed Lucknow Super Giants' consultant.

Former Australian cricketer Adam Voges has been brought on board as a batting consultant for Lucknow Super Giants, the IPL franchise, for the upcoming IPL 2024 season. Voges will be joining forces with head coach Justin Langer, a fellow Australian cricketing legend, to bolster the team’s batting prowess.

With Voges on the team, Langer got all nostalgic about their glory days in West Australia cricket and with the Perth Scorchers. The LSG head coach heaped praise on him for his brilliant job in Western Australia cricket and called his addition a great addition for Lucknow.

“He and I have a long association together through Western Australia cricket and Perth Scorchers. He himself is a very successful head coach. When I was the coach there [at Western Australia], he was the captain. He took over from me and has done a phenomenal job in West Australian cricket,” said Langer in a media release.

“So, to have him involved with LSG is a great bonus for all of us. He is an outstanding person and an excellent coach. He will bring in so much. We are very thrilled to have him involved,” he added.

It’s worth mentioning that Voges wore the Australian colours in 20 Tests, 31 ODIs, and 7 T20Is. His Test journey began against the West Indies in June 2015 in Roseau, where, at the ripe age of 35, he made history as the oldest player to notch a century on Test debut. He piled up 1485 runs in Tests at an average of 61.87, including five centuries and four half-centuries.
