IPL 2024: ‘Buddhe Retire Ho Jaa’ – MS Dhoni Faces Backlash for Poor Wicket-Keeping in CSK vs SRH

MS Dhoni is facing criticism for his poor keeping against SRH.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured a six-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 18th match of IPL 2024 on Friday, April 5 at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad.

After being put into bat, CSK managed to put 165 runs in their designated 20 overs for the loss of five wickets, with Shivam Dube playing a pivotal role with his quickfire 45 runs from just 24 balls.

While Sunrisers Hyderabad put on a dazzling batting show, they also capitalised on some lapses. MS Dhoni, widely respected for his wicket-keeping skills, failed to gather the ball behind the stumps, resulting in extra runs.

Following MS Dhoni’s challenging day with the wicket-keeping gloves in the match against SRH, a social media user highlighted that if it were Dinesh Karthik instead, he would have faced severe criticism for the same.

It’s worth noting that MS Dhoni, currently 42 years old, underwent knee surgery last year, which has left him still not fully recovered and often seen limping. Additionally, this season is expected to be his last in the CSK jersey.
