Delhi Capitals skipper, Shreyas Iyer has confirmed that the daredevil wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant will be resting for a week as per doctor’s advice. He got himself injured in the last match against Rajasthan Royals.

Shreyas Iyer confirmed this news in the post match conference after losing the game against defending champions, Mumbai Indians.

“We have no idea when Rishabh is back. I spoke to the doctor, and he said he will be resting for a week,” Shreyas Iyer confirmed in the post-match presentation.

The veteran’s injury caused many changes in the Playing XI of Delhi Capitals. While, Ajinkya Rahane replaced Rishabh Pant, Alex Carey replaced Shimron Hetmyer as a specialist wicket-keeper.

Eventually, the changes in the Playing XI didn’t work for Delhi Capitals. They couldn’t post the satisfactory runs on the board and failed to defend 162 runs in the second innings. Shikhar Dhawan played pretty well and smashed 69 runs while the likes of Ajinkya Rahane and Shreyas Iyer couldn’t give a satisfactory start.

Marcus Stoinis was looking in the form and was able to give Capitals a great finish but his run-out made it more miserable for Delhi Capitals as he would have helped Delhi in adding 10-15 extra runs on the scoreboard.

Eventually, Quinton de Kock and Suryakumar Yadav’s half centuries helped Mumbai Indians in marking an easy win against Delhi Capitals.
