IPL 2020: SRH vs KXIP, SunRisers Hyderabad defeated Kings XI Punjab by 69 Runs, Nicholas Pooran Fastest Fifty, Bairstow Missed Century
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 69 runs. Hyderabad won the toss and gave a target of 202 runs while batting first. In response, Punjab was all out for 132 runs in 16.5 overs.
In the 22nd match of the 13th season of IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 69 runs. This is Hyderabad’s biggest win against Punjab in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL). Earlier in 2019, Hyderabad defeated Punjab by 45 runs.
In the match played in Dubai, Hyderabad won the toss and gave a target of 202 runs while batting first. In response, Punjab was all out for 132 runs in 16.5 overs.
With this win, Hyderabad has moved up to the third spot in the points table. Johnny Bairstow scored a stunning 97 runs off 55 deliveries with the help of seven fours and three sixes. At the same time, Rashid Khan took 3 wickets for 12 runs. Apart from Rashid, Khalil Ahmed and T Natarajan got 2-2 wickets and Abhishek Sharma got one wicket.
Punjab’s 5th Defeat in Season
This is Kings’ 5th and fourth consecutive defeat in the season. Punjab has played a total of 6 matches so far, of which it has won only one match and lost in all other matches. Punjab is at the bottom of the points table with 2 points.
Puran made the fastest fifty of the Season
Nicholas Puran of Punjab hit the fastest fifty of the season on 17 balls. Puran smashed 77 runs off 37 balls. He hit 5 fours and 7 sixes in his innings. He was dismissed by Rashid Khan. Earlier, Sanju Samson of Rajasthan Royals hit a 19-ball fifty against Chennai. At the same time, Kieron Pollard of Mumbai Indians scored a half-century on 20 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Punjab Lost 2 Wickets in Power-play
Punjab did not have a good start. Mayank Agarwal, looking in rhythm, was run out after scoring 9 runs in the second over of the innings. After this, Simran Singh, who came out to bat, could not do anything special for the team and scored 11 runs and was dismissed by Khalil Ahmed.

Hyderabad Scored 201 For 6 Wickets
Batting first after winning the toss, Hyderabad scored 201 for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Johnny Bairstow missed his century by just 3 runs and was out for 97 runs. Apart from this, David Warner (52 runs) also made his 46th fifty in the IPL. Punjab’s Ravi Bishnoi took 3, Arshdeep Singh took 2 and Mohammad Shami got 1 wicket.
Warner-Bairstow’s 160-run Opening Partnership
For Hyderabad, opener David Warner and Johnny Bairstow made a fantastic 160 runs partnership for the first wicket. Bairstow scored 97 runs off 55 balls. He hit 7 fours and 6 sixes. At the same time, David Warner scored 52 runs off 40 balls. Both batsmen were dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi in the same over.
Apart from the Hyderabad openers, no batsman could do anything special. Abdul Samad (8 runs), Manish Pandey (1 run) and Priyam Garg (0 runs) could not even reach the double figures. Abhishek Sharma scored 12 runs. He was dismissed by Mohammed Shami. Kane Williamson was 20 not out.

SRH skipper David Warner and Johnny Bairstow gave Hyderabad a brilliant start. Both batsmen added 58 runs in the power-play. This is Hyderabad’s biggest score in the power-play of the season. With this, more than one thousand runs partnership has been made between Warner-Bairstow in 16 innings. Both have scored 5 times a century and 4 times a FIFTY run partnership.
Hyderabad Players Wearing Black Band on Arm
Hyderabad players took to the ground wearing a black armband in the match against Punjab. SunRisers players did this in honour of Afghanistan cricketer Najib Trakai. 29-year-old Tarkai died on 6 October while undergoing treatment in a hospital in Kabul after being injured in a road accident.
