LSG’s Controversial Bowler Digvesh Rathi Gets More Price in DPL Auction Than IPL
Digvesh Rathi sold for INR 38 lakh in DPL 2025, beating his IPL price, becomes one of the most expensive picks.

Digvesh Rathi has become one of the biggest names in domestic cricket this year. After a solid IPL 2025 season, he grabbed eyeballs again in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 auction.
On Sunday, South Delhi Superstarz picked the left-arm spinner for INR 38 lakh. Interestingly, this is more than the price he was bought for in the IPL just a few months ago. That makes it one of the most surprising bids of the DPL auction.
Rathi was already retained by his IPL team for INR 30 lakh this season. But after his performances in the IPL, his value went up rapidly. Superstarz made an early move and added him to their squad to boost their spin attack.
The same team also retained IPL star Ayush Badoni ahead of the auction. Together, the Rathi-Badoni pair will be key for Superstarz this season.
DDCA president Rohan Jaitley said this year’s DPL auction was bigger and better.
“We added new teams and a broader player pool. It’s a great platform for domestic players,” he said.
Rathi is now seen as one of the most exciting spin talents in India. And if his current form continues, DPL 2025 could be another breakthrough tournament for him.
