Veteran paceman Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled out of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League due to a muscle strain. On his injury, a senior BCCI official told PTI on Monday that it was probably a grade one or two injuries which meant he would be away from cricket for at least six to eight weeks. Due to this, he may have to be excluded from India’s tour of Australia.
To overcome this major setback, Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday announced the inclusion of left-arm pacer Prithvi Raj Yarra in the squad for the current season.
On October 2, Bhuvneshwar was hurt while throwing the 19th over of the Chennai Super Kings innings and walked out of the ground faltering after throwing just one ball. SRH had told that this Indian fast bowler will not participate further in the tournament and his place will be given to 22-year-old Prithvi Raj.
The franchise took to Twitter and wrote, ” Bhuvneshwar Kumar is ruled out of #Dream11IPL 2020 due to injury. We wish him a speedy recovery! Prithvi Raj Yarra will replace Bhuvi for the remainder of the season.”
22-year-old of Andhra Pradesh has taken 39 wickets in 11 matches of the first class. He will soon join the team in the UAE. Prithvi Raj has played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL last year, conceding 28 runs in two overs in his last match against Rajasthan Royals and gave a clean bold to Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Warner in his debut match.
