CSK vs KKR: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 6 wickets in the 49th match of the 13th season of Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). This is Chennai’s 5th win in the season. At the same time, Kolkata’s path to play-offs has become difficult with this defeat and Mumbai Indians have qualified for the play-offs. Kolkata will now have to win their next match and relay on the results of the other teams to qualify for the play-offs.

Chennai needed 30 runs off 12 deliveries. Ravindra Jadeja scored an unbeaten 31 off 11 balls and hit two sixes off the last two balls to snatch the victory from Kolkata. At the same time, Kolkata’s Varun Chakraborty and Pat Cummins got 2-2 wickets in the match.

Both did not lose their wicket in the power-play and brought the team’s score to 44 runs. Shane Watson was out for 14 runs. He made a 50 runs partnership for the first wicket with Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Nitish Rana scored 87 runs off 61 deliveries, putting his 11th fifty in the IPL. Dinesh Karthik scored an unbeaten 21 and captain Eoin Morgan scored 15 runs. The team scored 66 runs in the last 5 overs which helps KKR to challenge CSK with a target of 173 runs.

Chennai’s Lungi Ngidi got 2, Ravindra Jadeja, Karn Sharma and Mitchell Santner got 1-1 wickets.

Nitish Rana Made IPL’s Best Score

Nitish Rana made his third fifty in the season. He made 87 runs off 61 deliveries with the help of 10 fours and 4 sixes. This is his best performance in IPL. Earlier his best score was 85 not out, which he made against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019.

Ruturaj Gaikwad is adjudged the Man of the Match for his match-winning knock of 72 off 53 deliveries with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 135.84.

Changes in Playing 11:
