India Tour of Bangladesh Likely Cancelled Over Growing Cross-Border Tensions
India's upcoming cricket tour to Bangladesh is likely to be cancelled due to rising political tensions between the two nations.

India’s scheduled cricket tour to Bangladesh might not happen as planned. The Indian men’s team was supposed to travel to Bangladesh after their Test series against England, where they were set to play three ODIs and three T20Is.
But now, the tour faces cancellation due to recent geopolitical tensions. As per a report in The Times of India, the growing unrest after the Pahalgam terror attacks in Jammu & Kashmir has raised security concerns.
Pakistan is being linked to the attacks, and the situation has forced Indian authorities to rethink their travel plans. A source close to the development hinted that the Bangladesh tour might be called off.
“The tour is part of the calendar, but nothing is final yet. There is a bright possibility of India not touring Bangladesh for the ODIs and T20Is because of the current situation,” the source was quoted saying.
If this happens, it will be a big setback for fans waiting to see the India-Bangladesh rivalry. The Bangladesh Cricket Board had already announced the tour dates, but with the rising tension, things are now uncertain.
Not just the Bangladesh series, but the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 could also be affected. Though there is no official word yet, reports suggest that the Asia Cup might be postponed.
The tournament was expected to be played in September at a neutral venue since both India and Pakistan refuse to play in each other’s countries.
Sri Lanka and the UAE are currently leading the race to host the Asia Cup, which will be held in the T20 format to prepare teams for the 2026 T20 World Cup. However, with the current geopolitical situation, even that tournament’s schedule remains in doubt.
