IND vs SL: Jitesh Sharma Added To India’s T20I Squad As Sanju Samson Ruled Out Due To Injury
Jitesh Sharma will replace Sanju Samson in the squad.
Vidarbha wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma has been added to India’s squad in place of Sanju Samson for the remaining two T20I matches.
The Kerala wicket-keeper batter has ruled out of the second T20I against Sri Lanka due to a knee injury. He injured his knee while fielding in the series opener in Mumbai, which India won by two runs on Tuesday.
“Samson has stayed back in Mumbai to get some scans,” said a BCCI source.
Yes, Jitesh is joining the team. He has been rewarded for his performances for Punjab Kings in the IPL,” the source added.
Sanju Samson’s injury might provide an opportunity to Rahul Tripathi to make his T20I debut for India. He has been travelling with the Men in Blue for a long time but is yet to get a game.
