IND vs ENG: Rishabh Pant Might to Break This BIG Record of Sehwag in 4th Test vs England

Rishabh Pant just 3 sixes away from breaking Virender Sehwag’s record for most sixes by an Indian in Test cricket.

Rishabh Pant is now on the verge of breaking a major Test record held by Indian legend Virender Sehwag. The explosive left-hander needs just three more sixes to become India’s leading six-hitter in Test cricket.

Pant has smashed 88 sixes in just 46 matches so far. He is tied with Rohit Sharma and now closing in on Sehwag’s record of 90 sixes, which came in 103 Tests.

Pant’s brilliant form in the current series against England has added to the excitement. He has scored 425 runs in three matches with two centuries and two fifties, averaging over 70. His aggressive batting has been a key part of India’s fight in the series.

The fourth Test starts on July 23 at Old Trafford in Manchester, and if Pant plays, he could rewrite history with just a few big hits.

However, Pant’s availability is still uncertain. He injured his finger while keeping wickets on Day 1 of the third Test at Lord’s. Dhruv Jurel replaced him behind the stumps for the rest of the match.

India’s assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate has said that Pant might still play as a pure batter if he isn’t fit to keep. But this could force India to make changes in the XI.

Former coach Ravi Shastri has advised against using Pant only as a batter, suggesting it’s better to play him only if he’s fully fit.
