IND vs ENG: Fan Breaches Security at Chepauk on Day 3; Climbs Railings And Enters Field
IND vs ENG: A young boy managed to scale the railings present in the stands and made it all the way to the field. He then waved at the English players before the police got a hold of him.
IND vs ENG: The second test between India and England is currently going on in Chennai. After the completion of 1st test behind the doors, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) mutually decided to allow only 50% of spectators for the second test of the four-match series. However, the strict guidelines and protocols were being laid by the board for the spectators. Even the area near teams’ dressing rooms wasn’t opened for the fans as well to avoid any contact.
Even after all this security, a young kid managed to scale the railings present in the stands and made it to the field. He then waved at the English players before the police got a hold of him. The incident happened during the lunch break on Day 3 of the game. Though he didn’t come in contact with any of the players from both the teams, the kid waved at the visiting team from the distance and went back to his place.
A reporter from Sportstar took to Twitter and shared the information about the incident. He also mentioned that the police got hold of the kid for breaching the security. In case if a kid would have got close to England team for the Indian team the series might have been in trouble as authorities are taking every possible action to avoid any contact of the public with the players.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin applied themselves on a treacherous pitch to share an unbeaten 50-run stand and extend India’s lead. India was at 156 for six at lunch with Kohli and Ashwin going strong after India lost a flurry of wickets in the first hour of play.
Earlier in the game, after winning the toss, India rode on Rohit Sharma’s 161 and half-centuries from Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant to post 329 runs in the first innings. In reply, England was bowled out for 134 in 59.5 overs in their first innings. Wicketkeeper-batsman Ben Foakes was the top-scorer for the visitors with unbeaten 42 off 107 deliveries.
For the hosts, Ashwin bagged five wickets for 43 runs while Ishant Sharma (2/22) and Axar Patel (2/40) picked up two scalps each. Pacer Mohammed Siraj only bowled five overs on Day 2 and took one wicket of Ollie Pope.
