IND vs BAN: Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj to Miss T20I Series Against Bangladesh
BCCI is all set to rest Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj for Bangladesh T20I series.
The Indian cricket team is currently preparing for a two-match Test series against Bangladesh, starting on September 19 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The second Test will be played from September 27 at Green Park before the two teams participate in a three-match T20I series, starting on October 6 and ending on October 12.
Reports suggest that batting sensation Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant will be rested under the BCCI’s workload management policy to manage player fatigue.
Additionally, senior fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah are also likely to miss the T20I series against Bangladesh under the same policy, which could lead to the inclusion of some young players in their place.
Abhishek Sharma is expected to be called up in the absence of Shubman Gill. Sharma has been one of the most aggressive batters and his style of play aligns well with the demands of current T20 cricket.
Moreover, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Mukesh Kumar, and Tushar Deshpande are among the young fast bowlers who could fill the shoes of Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah during the T20I series against Bangladesh.
