IND vs AUS: T Natarajan is The Find of This Tour For India – Glenn McGrath
T Natarajan’s fast rise in international cricket has impressed Australian great Glenn McGrath. The former Australia pacer said he was ‘very impressed’ with Natarajan and had no hesitation in terming him the ‘find’ for India in this tour.
Former Australian pacer, Glenn McGrath is highly impressed with the new and young face in the Indian side, T Natarajan. The journey of India pacer T Natarajan from Chinnapampatti, a sleepy village near Salem in Tamil Nadu to the biggest stage in international cricket was not easy.
India has taken a 2-0 unassailable lead in the T20I series against the hosts Australia by winning the second T20 International on Sunday at Sydney Cricket Ground. Hardik Pandy was Man of the Match for his 22-ball 42 as he finished the chase of 195 with two balls to spare.
The Indian batsmen might get credits for the win but it is T Natarajan who is hogging all the limelight currently. Natarajan was only playing his second T20I match for India and bowled with a lot of skill to finish with figures of 2-20 in 4 overs, in a game where over 400 runs were scored.
Glenn McGrath, who has worked with Natarajan at the MRF pace foundation a few years ago, is mightily impressed by the progress of the left-arm seamer. He said that Natarajan is the find for India on this tour.
“Was very impressed with Natarajan. He’s definitely the find of this tour for India, hopefully, he continues,” said Glenn McGrath during commentary in the 2nd T20I.
Thought T Natarajan Would Have Been Man of the Match: Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya, who was awarded Man-of-the-match in the second T20I also said that T Natarajan was as deserving of the title as he was.
“I thought Natarajan would have been Man of the Match. The other bowlers struggled and he really had a good game, he gave us a target about 10 runs lower than it would have been,” Hardik Pandya said.
Former Indian pacer Harbhajan Singh also heaped praises on the left-arm seamer and said that he was very happy for the youngster.
“Well, I am so happy for Natarajan. The way he has gone about his life and the way he is performing is unbelievable. It shows that if you keep the faith and keep working hard and believe in yourselves, anything is possible.
“He has been a brilliant bowler for India in this series. He has been one of those major pillars in this series. Picking up wickets when India needed those wickets,” Harbhajan Singh said.
