IND vs AUS: Rajkot Pitch is one of the Best Highways in India – Ravi Shastri
Ravi Shastri called Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium pitch "the best highway in India"
The third ODI match of the three-match series between India and Australia is underway at Saurashtra Cricket Stadium in Rajkot. Australia, having won the toss, elected to bat first and made a sensational start, amassing 90 runs during the powerplay while losing just one wicket.
David Warner, who had previously scored consecutive half-centuries in the first two ODIs, maintained his exceptional form in the third ODI, registering yet another fifty before falling to Prasidh Krishna. Warner partnered with Mitchell Marsh for a brilliant 78-run opening stand.
While David Warner was at the crease, he played all sorts of shots, and even Mitchell Marsh joined in on the fun with his own array of strokes. It was as if the Rajkot pitch was tailor-made for batting, with the ball flowing off the bat like a breeze.
Ravi Shastri, the ex-cricketer turned commentator, didn’t mince words and called the Rajkot pitch ‘the highway’.
The Rajkot pitch has a track record of being kind to batters, and it’s a well-established fact that this ground has seen its fair share of high-scoring clashes. With this in mind, it’s quite likely that Australia will reach a total of over 300 runs in the upcoming match on Wednesday.
