IND vs AUS: Justin Langer Opens up on Hosts’ Opening Pair For Test Series

Australia head coach Justin Langer has opened about their possible best opening combinations in matches against India.

India will face Australia in the upcoming series, which is scheduled to get underway from November 27. Both the sides will give their best to dominate the show. Meanwhile, Australia head coach Justin Langer has opened about their possible best opening combinations. He named Joe Burns, who would retain his spot as the opening man along with David Warner in the longest format of the game.

The first Test match between the Indian team and host will be played on December 17 in Adelaide. Langer says “things can change” and also reckoned that Will Pucovski is in-form and one can not ignore him.

“[Will Pucovski has] been amazing hasn’t he, and it’s exactly what we are looking for, I’ve said it for a very long time that we want guys who are outside of the team to bang so hard you can’t ignore them. The fact is he’s been so good we can’t ignore him, he’s been brilliant,” said Langer as quoted by India Today.

The debate over the second slot is not warmed yet. Pucovski and Burns are a strong candidate for the second spot. Both the batsman is in strong form lately but Burns didn’t play good cricket recently. It is yet to be seen that who between these two will be given a place for the second spot.

“Joe Burns has done really well for us. Will Pucovski, we are really looking forward to seeing how he steps up to Australia A. It will be great to see him play against India, a new step up for him. So, it’s an exciting time. Competition is healthy,” added Langer about the two batsmen.

Team India has already reached Sydney and currently, they are under quarantine. However, they are allowed to train during the quarantine. India and Australia are scheduled to play three T20Is, as many ODIs and four Test matches.
