ILT20 2025 Match 5: Gulf Giants vs Desert Vipers – Match Highlights and Scorecard

Desert Vipers beat Gulf Giants by 6 wickets in the 5th match of the International League T20 (ILT20) 2025.

In Match 5 of the ILT20 2025, Desert Vipers claimed a comfortable six-wicket victory over Gulf Giants at the Dubai Stadium. Despite a valiant unbeaten knock by James Vince, the Giants’ modest total of 119 proved insufficient.

Gulf Giants’ Batting Struggles

Gulf Giants batted first but struggled throughout their innings. Captain James Vince played a lone hand, scoring an unbeaten 76 runs off 62 balls, including five boundaries and two sixes. However, he found little support from his teammates.

The Giants lost wickets at regular intervals, with Rehan Ahmed (4), Jordan Cox (1), and Ollie Robinson (0) departing cheaply. Aayan Khan chipped in with 15 runs off 18 balls, but it wasn’t enough to lift the scoring rate.

Lockie Ferguson led the Vipers’ bowling attack brilliantly, taking 3 wickets for just 22 runs in his four overs. Mohammad Amir (2/23) and Wanindu Hasaranga (1/21) also bowled effectively, restricting the Giants to 119/9 in 20 overs.

Vipers Chase the Target with Ease

Desert Vipers chased down the target comfortably in 17.4 overs. Fakhar Zaman (7) and Alex Hales (20) gave a cautious start, but Mark Adair’s excellent spell brought the Giants back into the game. Adair picked up 2 wickets for just 12 runs in his four overs, including the dismissals of Zaman and Daniel Lawrence.

Sam Curran played a steady knock, scoring an unbeaten 42 off 43 balls, while Sherfane Rutherford smashed a quickfire 40 off 18 deliveries. Rutherford’s aggressive innings, which included three sixes and three fours, ensured the Vipers reached the target without much trouble.
