James Vince’s Delivers Captain’s Knock

MI Emirates won the toss and chose to bowl first. Gulf Giants’ skipper James Vince played a brilliant knock, scoring 86 runs off 50 balls, including 10 fours and a six. However, he lacked support from the other batters. Jordan Cox (20), Hetmyer (15), and Tom Curran (13) got starts but couldn’t convert them into big scores. Chris Jordan’s late cameo (10 off 4) helped Gulf Giants finish at 173/6 in 20 overs.

For MI Emirates, Muhammad Rohid Khan took 2 wickets, while Akeal Hosein, Waqar Salamkheil, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Alzarri Joseph picked up one each.

MI Emirates started their chase with an attacking approach. Muhammad Waseem smashed 26 off just 10 balls, while Andre Fletcher played a steady knock of 31. However, they lost wickets at regular intervals and were struggling at 71/4 in the 11th over.

Skipper Nicholas Pooran then took charge. He was slow initially but shifted gears after the time-out. He remained unbeaten on 58 off 37 balls, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes. Romario Shepherd (23 off 9) provided the finishing touch as MI Emirates chased the target with 5 balls to spare.

Blessing Muzarabani and Aayan Khan were the most economical bowlers for Gulf Giants, picking up one wicket each. Chris Jordan also took a wicket but was expensive.

With this win, MI Emirates moved to 10 points and strengthened their chances for the playoffs, while Gulf Giants remained at the bottom with 6 points, making their qualification difficult.
