Gulf Giants pulled off a nail-biting two-wickets victory against MI Emirates in the 19th match of the ILT20 2025 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. The match ended in dramatic fashion as the Giants chased down 151 runs on the final ball of the game.

MI Emirates Struggle to Build Momentum

Batting first, MI Emirates managed to post 151/6 in 20 overs. Tom Banton anchored the innings with a solid 56 off 39 balls, hitting 8 fours and 1 six. Kieron Pollard chipped in with a quick 34 from 25 balls, smashing 2 fours and 3 sixes. Akeal Hosein added a late flourish, scoring 20 off 11 balls.

For Gulf Giants, Daniel Worrall impressed with 2/19 in his four overs, while Blessing Muzarabani conceded just 16 runs and took one wicket. Mark Adair also grabbed a wicket, giving away 24 runs in his spell.

Chasing 152, Gulf Giants faced early blows as they lost James Vince (1) and Jordan Cox (9) within the powerplay. Tom Alsop (32 off 36) and Gerhard Erasmus (37 off 28) steadied the ship with a crucial partnership. However, quick wickets in the middle overs kept MI Emirates in the game.

Fazalhaq Farooqi was the standout bowler for MI Emirates, claiming 3/34. Muhammad Rohid Khan also bowled brilliantly, picking up 2/15 in his four overs. Alzarri Joseph contributed with two wickets as well.
