ICC World Cup 2023: [Watch] Pakistan Player Spotted Fielding Near Tampered Boundary Line During PAK vs NED

Pakistan beat the Netherlands by 81 runs in the second match of the ICC World Cup 2023, which was played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday, October 6.

Netherlands won the toss and opted to bowl first. Their bowlers made a wise decision as they bowled Pakistan out for 286 runs in 49 overs. However, in reply, Netherlands also got bundled out for 205 runs in 41 overs.

Meanwhile, an incident caught on camera from the match, which is now getting viral on social media, shows a Pakistan player fielding at the very edge of the boundary line. Interestingly, it appears the boundary rope was shifted farther back, adding extra length to that section of the boundary.

One can’t say for sure if the player did it intentionally or if it happened during a previous boundary save. However, the picture of it went viral, and some fans on social media are pointing fingers at the player for messing with the boundary rope.

It’s highly probable that the boundary rope shifted a tad when a fielder slid to stop the ball.

The much-anticipated India vs Pakistan match is scheduled to be played on October 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
