ICC World Cup 2023: Team India Departs for Chennai Ahead of Opening Game Against Australia
India will face Australia in their opening match of World Cup 2023 in Chennai
Team India have left for Chennai ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023 to start their preparations for the prestigious event. Rohit Sharma & Co. will kick off their World Cup campaign against Australia on October 8 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
Prior to departing from Thiruvananthapuram to Chennai, Indian captain Ramesh Sharma celebrated by cutting a cake at their hotel. The hotel staff extended their best wishes for the World Cup 2023, hoping that Team India would end their ICC trophy drought by winning this year.

Both of Team India’s warm-up matches were washed out without a ball being bowled. They were scheduled to play England on September 30, and their second warm-up match was scheduled against the Netherlands on October 3 in Thiruvananthapuram.
Team India won their last World Cup under the leadership of MS Dhoni back in 2011, and since then, Team India has not won a single World Cup. This will be a great opportunity for India, who will be hosting their first ODI World Cup independently, to end their decade-long ICC trophy drought.
