‘I Don’t Sit in the Visa Office’ – Rohit Sharma Over Shoaib Bashir Visa Issue Ahead of 1st IND vs ENG Test
Rohit Sharma expressed empathy for Shoaib Bashir Visa Issue
Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, expressed empathy for Shoaib Bashir as the England spinner returned home to address visa concerns before the Test series in India.
Rohit acknowledged Shoaib’s unfortunate situation and clarified that visa office operations are beyond his control.
Shoaib Bashir, with Pakistani roots, had to cut short his stay at the team’s Abu Dhabi training camp and returned home due to an unresolved visa issue, which prevented his travel to India for the five-match Test series.
“I feel for Shoaib Bashir – Unfortunately, I don’t sit in the Visa office to give you more details, but I hope he gets it quickly & enjoys our country,” Rohit Sharma said in the pre-match press conference.
The first Test between India and England is set to take place on Thursday, January 25 at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad.
