The Indian team captain, Rohit Sharma, has cleared that they are not overly concerned about England’s playing style or their much talked about ‘Bazball’ approach in the lead-up to the first test match.
Since Brendon McCullum took over as head coach and Ben Stokes assumed captaincy, England has transitioned to a more attacking approach in test matches, rather than going for a defensive cricket.
However, Rohit Sharma remains unfazed, expressing little concern about Bazball. Instead, the team’s emphasis is on their own performance as they head into the first test match.
Here is what is Rohit Sharma said in the press-conference ahead of the first test match in Hyderabad:
“We will look to play our cricket. I am not interested in how the opposition is going to play. I am focused on what we want to do as a team.”
The first test match between India and England is set to take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad on Thursday, January 25.
