‘Humne Nahi Kaha Tha Bache Lekar Ao’ – Mohammad Haris Fires Back at Indian Fans for Mocking Pakistan’s Emerging Asia Cup Win

Mohammad Haris led Pakistan Shaheen defeated India A in the Final of Emerging Asia Cup 2023

Mohammad Haris, who recently led Pakistan Shaheen to the title in the Emerging Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka, has hit back at the critics for belittling their win. Unlike Pakistan, India chose not to include any international players in their squad, and in response, Haris stated that no one asked the Men in Blue to send ‘Little Kids’ for the tournament.

Yash Dhull led India A had an unbeaten run in the league stage of the Emerging Asia Cup, securing their spot in the finals. However, they faced a defeat against Pakistan A by 128 runs in the final showdown. Notably, India A had previously outclassed Pakistan A with an eight-wicket win during the league stage.

After Pakistan’s victory in the match, social media platforms were abuzz with discussions about the team’s lineup. Many highlighted that Pakistan’s squad comprised primarily of seasoned international players like Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Saim Ayub, while India’s team consisted of young talents like Yash Dhull, Sai Sudharsan, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, and Riyan Parag, who are yet to earn their debut for the national team.

Responding to this criticism aimed at Pakistan A team, Mohammad Haris fired back, conceding that India’s decision to send a young and inexperienced squad to the Emerging Asia Cup was their own choice. He further pointed out that Pakistan players had limited international experience, whereas the Indian youngsters had the advantage of IPL exposure.

Here’s what Mohammad Haris said on a podcast:

“There’s talk about Pakistan sending a team with several senior players. But let’s be clear, we didn’t ask them to send inexperienced players to the tournament. They claim we had more international experience, but really, I’ve played six T20I matches and Saim has played five. Meanwhile, those India players have a whopping 260 IPL matches under their belts.”
