How a Chhattisgarh Boy Spoke to Kohli and ABD, Thanks to Rajat Patidar’s Old SIM
Rajat Patidar’s old number lands with a Chhattisgarh teen, leading to surprise calls from Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar found himself in an unusual mess when his old mobile number ended up in the hands of a teenager from Chhattisgarh. The mix-up not only confused the new user but also led to unexpected conversations with cricket superstars.
Patidar’s number had been inactive for over 90 days, which led his telecom provider to deactivate it. The number was then issued to a young man named Manish from Gariaband district, who activated it with a Reliance Jio SIM in late June.
Manish and his friend Khemraj quickly noticed that the WhatsApp profile picture on the number belonged to Patidar. Before long, the phone began receiving calls from none other than Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. At first, the two friends thought it was a prank.
When Patidar learned about the situation, he called Manish directly to request his number back. Not realising it was really him, Manish joked, “And we’re MS Dhoni.” Annoyed, Patidar replied, “Okay, I’ll send the cop.”
Within minutes, local police arrived at Manish’s home. The boys, now realising it was no prank, handed over the SIM card without further trouble. Khemraj later said the incident was a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
“I ended up speaking to Kohli because of a wrong number. My life’s goal is fulfilled,” he laughed.
