Gautam Gambhir Ignore Jay Shah as BCCI Secretary Seeks to Discuss Head Coach Role After KKR’s IPL Title Win; Video Goes Viral
As per reports, Gautam Gambhir is the strong contender to take up the role of India’s head coach.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently opened applications for the next head coach of the Indian cricket team, as Rahul Dravid’s tenure is set to conclude after the T20 World Cup 2024.
Rahul Dravid has expressed no interest in reapplying for the role, prompting the BCCI to search for a suitable replacement. Currently, Gautam Gambhir stands out as one of the strongest contenders.
Gautam Gambhir, who joined Kolkata Knight Riders as a team mentor just before April 2024, led the team to victory in the IPL. This win adds to his previous successes, having led the team to IPL titles in 2012 and 2014.
Given Gambhir’s track record and potential as a coach, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, who attended the IPL 2024 final match between KKR and Sunrisers Hyderabad, was spotted following Gambhir during the team’s title celebrations.
A video of this has now gone viral on social media with fans speculating that Jay Shah may want to be discussing the possibility of Gautam Gambhir becoming the head coach of Team India.
