‘Flying Kiwi’ – Glenn Phillips Takes ‘Catch of the Tournament’ to Dismiss Marcus Stoinis: Watch
Glenn Phillips came up with a gravity-defying effort to take the catch.
Glenn Phillips’ sensational efforts to complete a catch of Marcus Stoinis in the opening fixture of the Super-12 between the arch-rivals New Zealand and Australia has made the headlines.
It was a gravity-defying act from Phillips as he covered a long distance before diving full length to complete the catch in the 9th over of Mitchell Santner’s over.
It all happened on the second ball of the ninth over when Marcus Stoinis made room and had slashed Mitchell Santner through the offside; however, he did not time it properly and the ball went into the no man’s land in the deep but Phillips made breathtaking efforts to complete the catch.
Glenn Phillips, Superhuman?
The catch is already hailed as the ‘Catch of the tournament’ and rightly so. We might witness many sensational stuff from the fielder going forward in the T20 World Cup 2022 but Phillips’ one will remain the most remarkable one.
As long as the match is concerned, New Zealand won it by 89 runs courtesy a brilliant unbeaten 92 by Devon Conway and a disciplined bowling effort by the Kiwis.
