Play was halted as medical staff treated Hose behind a screen before he was taken to hospital. Early reports suggest the 31-year-old may have dislocated his ankle.

On Instagram, Hose later confirmed that he faces a long recovery but thanked fans for their messages of support.

“Quick message to say I appreciate each and everyone of you who have reached out. It’s going to be a long old ride but I couldn’t ask for more amazing people around me. Big love,” he wrote.

Both The Hundred and Worcestershire CCC, his county side, issued statements wishing him a speedy recovery.

“Everyone at Worcestershire CCC sends their best wishes to Adam Hose, who has sustained a lower leg injury while playing for Trent Rockets. We wish him a speedy recovery and will provide further updates in due course.” the club wrote on social media

Despite being a batter short, the Rockets chased down 141 and secured a four-wicket win. Tom Moores struck 55 from 30 balls, while Tom Banton made 49 off 38, with the pair adding a crucial 76-run stand.

The victory lifted the Rockets level on points with Northern Superchargers, while Southern Brave dropped to fourth place in the table.
