Big Blow to RR’s as Sandeep Sharma Ruled Out of IPL 2025 with Fractured Finger

Rajasthan Royals pacer Sandeep Sharma ruled out of IPL 2025 with a fractured finger; RR eye replacement as playoff hopes hang in the balance.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Sandeep Sharma has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2025 after sustaining a fractured finger during the clash against Gujarat Titans. The injury occurred when the 31-year-old attempted to stop a fierce straight drive from GT captain Shubman Gill.

In a display of grit, Sandeep completed his spell despite the injury, bowling the final eight balls of his quota. The Royals officially confirmed his exit from the tournament on May 1 and extended their wishes for a speedy recovery.

Sandeep has been a consistent performer for RR this season, claiming 9 wickets in 10 matches at an economy rate of 9.89. His absence leaves a significant void in the Royals’ bowling attack as the team fights to stay in contention for the playoffs.

In RR’s most recent fixture against Mumbai Indians, Sandeep was replaced by Akash Madhwal. The team management is currently evaluating options and is expected to announce a replacement soon.

With the Royals still very much in the hunt for a playoff spot, the loss of Sandeep could impact their campaign at a critical juncture.
