“Bhaiya Full Toss Mar Dete” – Shashank Singh Shares Teammates’ Words After PBKS IPL 2025 Final Loss
After losing the IPL 2025 final, Shashank Singh reveals how his Punjab Kings teammates kept telling him, “Bhaiya, full toss mar dete.”
Shashank Singh felt he missed a big chance in the IPL final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Punjab Kings needed 42 runs from 12 balls in the last two overs.
The 33-year-old hard hitting batter had planned to score at least 16-17 runs off Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s over but got only 13. That meant 30 runs were needed in the final over.
He was ready for a yorker from Josh Hazlewood but got a full toss on his thigh pad instead. He says if he had hit that ball well, it could have gone for a big score and maybe won the match.
However, Shashank Singh scored 24 runs in the final over and ended unbeaten on 61 runs from 30 balls, but Punjab Kings lost the final by six runs.
The PBKS batter says everyone keeps telling him, “You should have hit that full toss.” This keeps bothering him. He admits he and Nehal Wadhera should have finished the game better. Despite the loss, he stayed strong but could not hold back tears when the match ended.
He recalls his thoughts after hitting a six in the second last ball and seeing 12 runs needed off the last ball. That’s when he felt the game was lost. Even in the dressing room, he cried quietly.
Shashank is hopeful for the future. He predicted before the IPL that Punjab Kings would finish in the top two. Now, he says, “Next year we will play the final in Bengaluru again, and this time we will lift the trophy.”
