BCCI Embarrassed After Sarfaraz Khan-Musheer Khan Mix-Up Blunder in Ranji Trophy Game
BCCI corrected a Ranji Trophy scorecard error after mixing up Sarfaraz and Musheer Khan during Mumbai’s match vs J&K
The BCCI made a rare scoring error during Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy match against Jammu & Kashmir, mistakenly swapping the names of brothers Sarfaraz Khan and Musheer Khan on the official scorecard.
According to the initial update, Sarfaraz was listed as the opening batter and shown dismissed for a duck, which left fans puzzled since he usually bats in the middle order. In reality, it was Musheer who opened the innings and was out for zero on the third ball.
The confusion spread quickly on social media, with many questioning Mumbai’s batting strategy. It wasn’t until later that the BCCI corrected the scorecard, confirming that Sarfaraz had in fact batted at number five. He played a brisk knock, striking three boundaries before getting out.
After Musheer’s early dismissal, Ayush Mhatre and captain Ajinkya Rahane steadied Mumbai’s innings with a 61-run partnership. Both looked in control before Mhatre fell, followed soon by Rahane.
