Samson Leads India’s Batting Charge
Put in to bat, India posted 188 for 8. Abhishek Sharma gave the innings a flying start with 38 off just 15 balls before falling early. Samson then took control at number three, striking 56 from 45 balls with three fours and three sixes.
In the latter stages, Axar Patel’s 26 off 13 and Tilak Varma’s 29 off 18 gave India the push they needed. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav made headlines by sending himself down to number 11 and did not bat.
For Oman, Shah Faisal (2 for 23), Jiten Ramanandi (2 for 33), and Aamir Kaleem (2 for 31) bowled with discipline.
Oman’s Brave Fight Falls Short
Chasing 189, Oman’s openers put India under pressure. Aamir Kaleem smashed 64 off 46 balls and added 93 runs with Hammad Mirza, who made 51 off 33.
Their stand raised hopes of a major upset, but India’s bowlers struck at key moments. Kuldeep Yadav removed Jitender Singh, while Hardik Pandya and Harshit Rana dismissed the set batters to swing the game back.
Arshdeep Singh sealed the win with his 100th T20I wicket in the final over, as Oman closed on 167 for 4. India’s unbeaten run in the group stage continues, while Oman can take pride in testing a full-strength side despite falling short.
