Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga produced one of the most memorable moments of the Asia Cup 2025 in the match against Pakistan at Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
After Fakhar Zaman hit a powerful shot, Hasaranga dived to his left and took a stunning catch, giving Pakistan a major blow.
The off-spinner didn’t stop there. After dismissing Saim Ayub later, Hasaranga copied Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed’s celebration style to tease him.
Earlier, Abrar had mimicked Hasaranga’s trademark celebration after getting the tweaker out during Sri Lanka’s first innings. The playful rivalry drew laughs from Abrar, who was seen enjoying the back-and-forth from the dugout.
On the field, Pakistan had done well to restrict Sri Lanka to 133 for 8. Shaheen Afridi picked up three wickets, while Haris Rauf claimed two. Abrar Ahmed was the most economical, giving just eight runs in his four overs.
