Ashes 2021-22 Schedule: Dates & Venues Announced For Men’s & Women’s Series

England men's Ashes tour of Australia will begin on 8 December in Brisbane and, for the first time since 1994-95, the final Test will be held in Perth.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket Australia (CA), on Wednesday announced the schedules for the men’s and women’s Ashes series in Australia this winter.

Men’s Ashes Test Series

Joe Root’s Test side will begin their five-match series at the Gabba in Brisbane on December 8 before moving to Adelaide for a day-night Test starting on December 16.

The traditional Boxing Day and New Year’s Tests will follow at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (26-30 December) and Sydney Cricket Ground (5-9 January) respectively, with the final Test scheduled for Perth’s Optus Stadium (14-18 January).

Men’s Ashes Schedule

First Test: 8-12 December – Gabba, Brisbane

Second Test: 16-20 December – Adelaide Oval, Adelaide (day-night)

Third Test: 26-30 December – MCG, Melbourne

Fourth Test: 5-9 January – SCG, Sydney

Fifth Test: 14-18 January – Optus Stadium, Perth

Women’s Ashes

The multi-format Women’s Ashes series will begin at Manuka Oval, Canberra, with the Women’s Ashes Test match from 27-30 January.

The white-ball matches, which combine with the Test match to form the multi-format series, kick off with three T20Is, to be played at the North Sydney Oval, Sydney (4 and 6 February) and the Adelaide Oval (10 February).

The multi-format series concludes with three ODIs at Adelaide Oval (13 February) and the Junction Oval in Melbourne (16 and 19 February).

After the Women’s Ashes series, England will travel to New Zealand for the ICC Women’s World Cup, which will take place in a year that will also see them represent Team England at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

First T20: 4 February – North Sydney Oval, Sydney

Second T20: 6 February – North Sydney Oval, Sydney

Third T20: 10 February – Adelaide Oval, Adelaide

First ODl: 13 February – Adelaide Oval, Adelaide

Second ODl: 16 February – Junction Oval, Melbourne

Third ODI: 19 February – Junction Oval, Melbourne

In accordance with current guidelines, Cricket Australia has included quarantine periods for all international series in its 2021-22 schedule. They will continue to work closely with related federal and state government departments, and will provide updates on international quarantine, domestic biosecurity, and crowd control initiatives in due course.

The England Men’s warm-up schedule for the Ashes will be released in due time.
