The much-awaited Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is all set to kick off from August 26 with their first match being played between the defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors at Warner Park in St Kitts.

Trinbago Knight Riders are one of the strongest sides of the tournament, having won four CPL titles. This time they will be looking for their fifth CPL title. They played ten matches in the last season of the tournament, where they emerged victorious on all ten occasions. The Kieron Pollard-led side is full of big hitters and they will be looking to dominate their opposition in the opening match of the tournament.
Guyana Amazon Warriors, on the other hand, played ten matches in the last season of the tournament and won six of them. They have played plenty of finals, but are yet to win their maiden CPL trophy. The team consists of some experienced players namely – Nicholas Pooran, Shimron Hetmyer, Shoaib Malik and they will be aiming for a better start in the season.
