IPL 2024 – Match 8 SRH vs MI: Hardik Pandya to drop Tim David? Mumbai Indians Probable Playing 11 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad
Dewald Brevis is expected to feature as the impact player, possibly taking the place of Luke Wood in the playing XI

The eighth game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will see the Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) hosting the Mumbai Indians(MI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on 27 March, Wednesday.
Mumbai Indians are amongst one of the most reluctant franchises when it comes to making changes in the Playing XI, their management believes in giving players a spot of security which results in minimal changes in the XI throughout the Tournament.
Probable Playing XI of SRH vs MI:
Rohit Sharma after being relieved from the leadership duties is now expected to be the free-flowing batter we all have seen he could be during the ODI World Cup, and he duly gave glimpses of what he could be during his first game of the season.
Partnering him will be Ishan Kishan who will take up the wicket-keeping duties, Kishan’s last few months have been nothing short of a roller coaster ride, and he would be keen to make a mark of himself to present his case in front of the Indian selectors who would select the team for the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean Islands.
Suryakumar Yadav didn’t receive clearance from the NCA to be fit for IPL 2024 which means Naman Dhir will hold his place back in the team for the 2nd encounter as well slotting at number 3, following him will be the lefty spin basher in Tilak Varma who would want to make a mark of his own in the absence of Suryakumar Yadav.
Dewald Brevis is expected to be the impact player, who’ll make up the middle order of the Mumbai Indians with Naman Dhir and Tilak Varma.
To provide the finishing touches Mumbai would again bank on their newly appointed skipper Hardik Pandya who failed to finish the game in his first game as the skipper of Mumbai Indians, and to support him Tim David will be there who has improved his game leaps and bounds in the last few months.
The spin attack is where Mumbai is expected to struggle big time, their spin bowling duo of Piyush Chawla and Shams Mulani with Kumar Kartikeya as the supporting cast won’t give the opposition sleepless nights.
If Mumbai’s spin bowling stocks are in vain, their fast bowling stocks are at an all-time high, with Bumrah finding an able ally in Gerald Cotezee and Luke Wood especially Coetzee who provided a masterclass of how to bowl in the late overs of the Innings, with Luke Wood performing the Powerplay duties and Gerald Cotezee doing the enforcer job Mumbai’s fast bowling can certainly make the batters hop around the pitch with the new 2 bouncer rule which came to effect this Season.
If Mumbai gets to bowl in the first innings Dewald Brevis will be their impact player replacing Luke Wood, and if they bat first the reverse of this will happen.
Probable Playing XI of SRH vs MI:
Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan (WK), Naman Dhir, Tilak Varma, Tim David, Hardik Pandya (C), Shams Mulani, Piyush Chawla, Gerald Cotezee, Jasprit Bumrah, Luke Wood
Impact Player: Dewald Brevis
