Team India left no room for doubt in the fourth match of the Super 4 stage at Asia Cup 2023, overpowering Pakistan by a massive 228 runs. India’s performance was a masterclass in balance, as their batters dominated early, and their bowlers executed brilliantly to dismantle Pakistan’s batting lineup later in the game.
With the bat, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were the stars of the show, each crafting unbeaten centuries. Their outstanding partnership propelled India to a commanding total of 356 runs for the loss of just two wickets during their allotted 50 overs. Kohli remained unbeaten with 122 runs, while Rahul blazed his way to an unbeaten 111.
In reply, Pakistan’s innings crumbled, and they were bowled out for a mere 128 runs in 35 overs. The spin wizard Kuldeep Yadav led the way with a five-wicket haul, while the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur and Hardik Pandya chipped in with one wicket each.
In the aftermath of India’s win over Pakistan, jubilant celebrations lit up the country, starting in the late hours. There is a video going viral on social media in which people from Jammu and Kashmir can be seen lighting fireworks and celebrating Team India’s victory with music while waving flags in their hands.
