AB de Villiers, the renowned South African batter, has chosen his former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate, Virat Kohli as the greatest ODI batter of all time, overlooking the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who holds the record for the highest run scorer and most ODI centuries of all time.

Virat Kohli, who recently became the quickest player to reach 13,000 ODI runs during India’s Super Four clash against Pakistan in the 2023 Asia Cup, has over 13K runs in 280 ODIs at an average of 57.38, featuring 47 centuries and 65 half-centuries.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, here’s what AB de Villiers said:

“Virat Kohli is the greatest ODI batter of all time. His records is just unbelievable. What have done over the years in just phenomenal especially in under pressure in run chase is Incredible.”

Virat Kohli will now be seen in action in the third ODI match against Australia, which is set to be played on Wednesday, September 27, at Saurashtra Cricket Stadium, Rajkot.
