‘We All Can Have One Bad Day’ – Rohit Sharma on Losing World Cup Against Australia
Rohit Sharma opened up on India’s loss against Australia in World Cup.
India’s cricket team had a golden opportunity to break their World Cup dry spell, lingering for over a decade, during the latest ICC ODI World Cup 2023 held in their home country.
Throughout the league stages, the Men in Blue displayed an outstanding campaign, having won all the matches. However, their momentum faltered in the final as they lost against Australia.
After defeating New Zealand in the semifinals, Team India secured their place in the tournament final and captain Rohit Sharma asserted that he saw no weaknesses in Team India, instilling a belief that they will win the World Cup easily.
Here’s a glimpse of what Rohit Sharma revealed during his interview on ‘Breakfast with Champions’ –
“When we won the semi finals, I thought, what is that one thing that could make us lose this World Cup? honestly not a single thing came to my mind, because I thought we ticked all the boxes, confidence was there, but then y’all supposed to have one bad day.”
While Rohit Sharma thinks it was just a bad day for Team India, fans blame the pitch and point fingers at the head coach Rahul David and skipper Rohit Sharma himself. They reckon Rohit’s request to the curator for a ‘slow pitch’ in the final backfired big time, costing India the World Cup.
