Babar Azam has been looking in a great touch with the bat in PSL 2024.
Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam is once again proving his mettle in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024, hitting consecutive fifties to start off the ninth edition.
However, he didn’t get much backing from the rest of the batting lineup, and he departed on 72 (from 51 balls) in the final ball of the 18th over as Peshawar Zalmi were bowled out at 154.
Babar Azam treated the crowd to seven fours and a magnificent six, anchoring one end while wickets tumbled at the other.
Mir Hamza claimed the prized wicket of the Zalmi captain. He sent down a slower, fullish delivery, aimed around off stump. Peshawar skipper Babar Azam attempted to flick it to the leg side for a quick single, hoping to keep the strike for the next over.
However, he misjudged the timing, sending the ball airborne straight back to the bowler, who held onto a sharp, low catch.
