Asia Cup 2023: No Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya Named Vice Captain of India

The rumours surrounding the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s consideration of Jasprit Bumrah as the vice-captain for India in the forthcoming Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup 2023 have been laid to rest on Tuesday, August 21 as the BCCI announced the squad for Asia Cup 2023, naming Hardik Pandya as vice-captain and continuing with Rohit Sharma as the captain.

Jasprit Bumrah, who is back in action for India after almost a year, has taken the reins of the young Team India in their three-match T20I series against Ireland. With a win in the first two T20Is, India has already wrapped up the series with the third and final match scheduled to be played on August 23 at Dublin.
