IPL 2020: Kagiso Rabada Surpasses Morne Morkel, Records Most Wickets For Delhi Capitals in a Single Season
Delhi Capitals' fast bowler Kagiso Rabada bowled brilliantly in the second qualifier of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 and has named a special record. Rabada’s tally of 26* wickets in the ongoing tournament is the highest for a Delhi Capitals bowler in all 13 seasons and also the 2nd highest number of scalps bagged by a bowler in IPL 2020. With 26* wickets this season, Kagiso Rabada (25 wickets in IPL 2019) has bettered his joint-record with Morne Morkel (25 wickets in IPL 2012).

On Sunday, while playing against SunRisers Hyderabad, he took 4 wickets for 29 runs in his 4 overs quota. Rabada also took three successive wickets in this match, but he did not get a hat-trick. Actually, it happened in the 19th over of the second innings when captain Iyer handed over the ball to Rabada.
Rabada dismissed Abdul Samad (33) off the third ball of the 19th over at the hands of Keemo Paul. Just after that, on the fourth ball, he sent Rashid Khan back to the pavilion for 11. He was then on a hat-trick but the next ball he threw, was given wide by umpire. However, on the very next ball, the fifth ball, he dismissed Shreevats Goswami for zero. In one sense, he took three consecutive wickets, but it was not a hat-trick due to throwing a ball wide in the middle.
With 26* wickets this season, Kagiso Rabada (25 wickets in IPL 2019) has bettered his joint-record with Morne Morkel (25 wickets in IPL 2012).
