WPL 2027 will run from January 14 to February 7 in Vadodara and Mumbai, with RCB facing MI in the opening match.
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2027 will take place from January 14 to February 7, with Vadodara and Mumbai sharing hosting duties for the upcoming season. The tournament will feature its opening match in Vadodara before moving to Mumbai for the final stages.
Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will face inaugural champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the opening match on January 14 at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
Vadodara will host the first 11 league matches from January 14 to 24. The tournament will then move to Mumbai, where Brabourne Stadium will host the remaining nine league matches from January 26 to February 3.
The Eliminator is scheduled for February 5, while the final will take place on February 7. All matches throughout the tournament will begin at 7:30 PM local time.
WPL 2027 Auction and International Schedule
At the WPL 2027 auction, Australia captain Sophie Molineux emerged as the most expensive player, joining UP Warriorz for INR 1.1 crore. Indian batter Kiran Navgire was the most expensive Indian player, with Delhi Capitals signing her for INR 75 lakh.
Several key players will also continue with their respective teams. Nat Sciver-Brunt will remain with Mumbai Indians, Lauren Bell with RCB and Sophie Ecclestone with UP Warriorz.
The tournament’s closing stages will overlap with England’s tour of Sri Lanka, which includes three T20Is from February 1 to 5. However, senior England players, including Nat Sciver-Brunt, will be allowed to miss the bilateral series if their WPL teams qualify for the final stages.
The WPL 2027 schedule also creates a clear window ahead of the inaugural six-team Women’s Champions Trophy. The tournament will be held at the same two venues, Vadodara and Mumbai, from February 14 to 28.
Unlike the 2026 season, which was played across Navi Mumbai and Vadodara, the 2027 edition will not feature DY Patil Stadium due to ongoing renovation work. Vadodara will serve as the home venue for Gujarat Giants, while Mumbai Indians will play at their home ground in Mumbai.
