After opting to bat first, Bangladesh openers Saif Hassan and Tanzid Hasan gave their side a flying start with 59 runs in the powerplay. Saif contributed 30 before falling to Rashid Khan, while Tanzid’s 31-ball 52 kept the momentum going.

Afghanistan hit back through Noor Ahmad, who dismissed Tanzid and Litton Das, finishing with 2-23. Rashid also chipped in with 2-26, but Towhid Hridoy’s late 26-run cameo carried Bangladesh to a competitive 154-5.

Chasing 155, Afghanistan faltered against Bangladesh’s spin duo. Nasum Ahmed removed Sediqullah Atal and Ibrahim Zadran early, while Rishad Hossain dismissed Gulbadin Naib and Rahmanullah Gurbaz to leave the innings in trouble at 62-4.

Gurbaz’s 35 was the top score, but once Mustafizur Rahman joined the attack, Afghanistan’s hopes faded. The left-arm pacer struck thrice, claiming 3-28, while Taskin Ahmed sealed the game as Afghanistan were bowled out for 146.

With the win, Bangladesh boosted their chances of reaching the Super Four, while Afghanistan were left on the brink of elimination.
