Bangladesh secured a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Hong Kong in match three of the 2025 Asia Cup at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
Captain Litton Das and pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib were the standout performers as Bangladesh overcame early jitters in their chase.
Hong Kong, batting first, managed a competitive 143-7. Taskin Ahmed provided the early breakthrough, while Sakib dismantled the middle order with a tight spell of 2-21.
Rishad Hossain also played his part, dismissing the well-set Nizakat Khan for 42. Captain Yasim Murtaza gave Hong Kong late momentum with a brisk 28 off 19 balls.
Chasing 144, Bangladesh stumbled at 47-2 inside the powerplay, losing Parvez Hossain Emon and Tanzid Hasan cheaply.
But skipper Litton Das steadied the innings, crafting a fluent 59 off 39 balls with six fours and a six. He shared a match-winning 95-run stand with Towhid Hridoy, who remained unbeaten on 35.
Bangladesh reached the target in just 17.4 overs, sealing their first points of the tournament in style.
