PAK vs AFG Match Highlights & Scorecard – Ibrahim Zadran and Sediqullah Atal Crush Pakistan, Seal 18-Run Win for Afghanistan
Afghanistan beat Pakistan by 18 runs in the Tri-series as spinners Rashid Khan, Nabi, and Noor Ahmad starred after Sediqullah Atal and Ibrahim Zadran’s batting heroics.
Afghanistan delivered a clinical all-round performance to stun Pakistan by 18 runs in the Tri-series clash just before the Asia Cup 2025.
Batting first, Afghanistan posted 169-5, thanks to a superb partnership between Sediqullah Atal (64 off 45) and Ibrahim Zadran (65 off 45).
The duo kept Pakistan’s attack at bay, ensuring a strong platform despite Faheem Ashraf’s brilliant spell of 4-27. A late cameo from skipper Rashid Khan (8* off 4) pushed the total close to 170.
In reply, Pakistan faltered early as Fazalhaq Farooqi struck in the powerplay, removing both openers.
Fakhar Zaman showed intent with 25 off 18, but Mohammad Nabi’s experience cut short his stay. Afghanistan’s spinners then tightened the noose Nabi (2-20), Rashid (2-30), and Noor Ahmad (2-20) all playing their part.
Pakistan slipped to 111-9 before Haris Rauf (34* off 16) fought back with four sixes, but the damage had been done. Afghanistan’s bowlers held their nerve to seal a comfortable 18-run victory and hand Pakistan their first defeat of the series.
This win not only boosts Afghanistan’s confidence ahead of the Asia Cup but also highlights once again their world-class spin depth that continues to trouble top sides.
