India began the day at 75 for 2, already 52 runs ahead. Yashasvi Jaiswal and nightwatchman Akash Deep were at the crease. Deep surprised many by hitting Jacob Bethell for a boundary early on and going on to score his maiden international fifty.

He made a gritty 66 off 94 balls, hitting 12 boundaries. His partnership with Jaiswal was worth 107 runs from just 150 balls.

Yashasvi continued his rich form, smashing 118 off 164 deliveries. His innings included 14 fours and 2 sixes, keeping England under pressure all morning.

Though Shubman Gill and Karun Nair fell cheaply, India kept the runs flowing. Ravindra Jadeja added a steady 53, while Dhruv Jurel made a quick 34.

Washington Sundar played a handy cameo too, scoring 53 from just 46 balls. He stitched a 39-run stand with Prasidh Krishna for the last wicket.

India were finally bowled out for 396, setting England a big target of 374 runs to win.

England started their chase solidly again, with Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley putting on another half-century opening stand. But just before stumps, Mohammed Siraj struck to remove Crawley and break the stand.

At the end of Day 3, England were 50 for 1 in 13.5 overs, still 324 runs away from the target. India, with momentum on their side, will be eyeing a quick finish to square the series.
