A police complaint has been filed against cricketer Virat Kohli in Bengaluru over the stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium during the RCB victory celebration, which caused 11 deaths.
The complaint was submitted at Cubbon Park police station by A.M. Venkatesh from Naija Horatagaarara Vedike and will be investigated along with the existing FIR.
The FIR names RCB, event company DNA Entertainment, and Karnataka State Cricket Association for organising the event without proper permissions.
The complaint includes serious charges such as culpable homicide and rash acts endangering human life under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
In a related case, Roland Gomes, who was injured in the stampede, filed a complaint against RCB, KSCA, and DNA Entertainment. He said the crowd rush at Gate 17 caused his shoulder injury.
A BJP delegation demanded FIRs against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivkumar, accusing them of failing to control the situation. BJP leaders blamed the government for ignoring police advice and risking public safety.
