Mumbai Indians have roped in leg-spinner Raghu Sharma as a replacement for their injured star bowler Vignesh Puthur, who has been ruled out of the IPL 2025 due to a bone stress reaction in both his shins.
Raghu Sharma has been signed for his base price of Rs 30 lakh from the Registered Available Player Pool (RAPP) and will be making his IPL debut this season.
The 32-year-old Raghu Sharma, who hails from Jalandhar, Punjab, is an experienced player in the domestic circuit. He has represented both Punjab and Puducherry teams in Indian domestic cricket over the years.
His arrival will add some spin depth to the Mumbai Indians squad as they gear up for the remaining matches of the tournament.
Raghu Sharma’s Credentials
In first-class cricket, Raghu Sharma has delivered some strong performances. He has played 11 matches and picked up 57 wickets at an average of 19.59, with his best bowling figures being 7 for 56.
In List A cricket, he has taken 14 wickets in 9 matches, with his best performance being 4 for 37. Sharma also has a bit of T20 experience, having played three matches and taken three wickets so far.
