Former Indian pacer S Sreesanth and opener Gautam Gambhir engaged in a heated exchange of words during the Legends League Cricket eliminator in Surat on Wednesday, December 6.
Gambhir, leading the charge for India Capitals, nailed a six and a four in consecutive deliveries off Sreesanth’s bowling for Gujarat Giants in the second over. In response, Sreesanth threw a wide, and Gambhir smacked it straight to a fielder at short cover.
Sreesanth, with his fiery reputation, jumped into a verbal spat, trying to get under Gambhir’s skin and break the retired opener’s concentration. The situation got out of hand, and the umpires, and Gujarat Giants captain Parthiv Patel, had to step in to break up the confrontation and bring things back under control.
