The Hundred is a relatively new cricket tournament introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2021. As the name suggests, each innings in this format consists of 100 balls.
The tournament features eight teams, both for men and women, representing major cities across England and Wales. The competition is held annually, with matches played in a round-robin format followed by playoffs.

The Hundred: Teams and Format
The eight teams participating in The Hundred are:

The tournament follows a double-header format, with both men’s and women’s matches being played on the same day at the same venue. This format has helped to increase the popularity of women’s cricket and has provided equal opportunities for both genders.
For the Hundred Men’s competition, different teams have won each year. The Southern Brave won the first tournament in 2021. The Trent Rockets claimed the title in 2022, and the Oval Invincibles won in 2023, 2024 and 2025 whereas 2026 season won by Manchester Super Giants.
In the women’s competition, the Oval Invincibles were very successful in the first two years, winning in both 2021 and 2022. In 2023, the Southern Brave won the championship whereas London Spirit names the cup in 2024. The 2025 season won by Northern Superchargers
